Nick Khan On Social Media Criticism Of WWE: ‘It’s Not Real Life’

WWE President Nick Khan has opened up about his philosophy on handling online criticism from fans regarding the company’s creative direction. Speaking on the “What’s Your Story? With Stephanie McMahon” podcast, Khan stated that he does not let social media “noise” dictate WWE’s booking decisions.

Khan made it clear that while he is open to opinions, he will not be swayed by the loudest or most negative voices online. He noted that he trusts his internal team for feedback, not anonymous social media users.

“It’s not real life. I try to keep my head down and work. If I’m doing something wrong, someone I trust will tell me,” Khan said. “I’m not going to let someone with 14 followers decide how I feel about my day.“

He explained that this philosophy is shared by Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque and is taught to the entire WWE creative team.

“We train our creative team to ignore the noise. Trust the data. Trust your instincts. Don’t let Twitter or Reddit or whatever throw you off your game.“

Khan did clarify that this doesn’t mean the company disregards its audience, but rather that they focus on the entire fanbase, not just a vocal minority.

“We try to program for the universe—not the people who want to criticize you. That doesn’t mean we don’t care what people think, but it means we care more about everyone, not just the loudest voices.“
