Beth Hardy, the wife of AEW star Jeff Hardy, is sending a clear warning to wrestling fans: don’t be fooled by fake social media accounts. In recent years, scammers have increasingly targeted fans by impersonating wrestlers, often trying to solicit money or personal information.
A Warning To Fans
Beth Hardy recently took to social media to shut down a new fake Instagram account using her husband’s TikTok handle. She also called out a suspicious “verified” Facebook account that is also posing as Jeff.
“Happy Sunday, everyone! Jeff did NOT make a new IG with his @TikTok name @enlightenedjeffhardy. It’s a fake,” she wrote. “Just like the ‘verified’ Jeff Hardy @facebook. Still don’t know how that slipped thru the cracks.”
A Growing Problem
This is not the first time a wrestling personality has had to warn fans about fake accounts. Stars like Alexa Bliss have also spoken out about the issue. The fact that a verified account was able to slip through Facebook’s system highlights how convincing these scams can be. Fans are advised to be cautious and to verify the authenticity of any account claiming to be a celebrity.
Happy Sunday, everyone!
