Seth Rollins Injured At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight took place at the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. During the match, Rollins went for a springboard moonsault and landed on his feet. He seemingly messed up his knee.

Rollins went to the corner and was checked on by the doctor. Knight immediately hit the BFT to Rollins for the quick win.

History of Injuries

Throughout his career, Seth Rollins has battled through several significant injuries, often at the height of his success. These setbacks have led to lengthy absences and forced him to vacate a world championship.

Rollins’ first major injury occurred on November 4, 2015, during a WWE live event in Dublin, Ireland. In a match against Kane, Rollins tore the ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus in his right knee while attempting a sunset flip powerbomb. As he was the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion at the time, the injury forced him to vacate the title. He was sidelined for approximately seven months, making his return at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view in May 2016.

Knee Problems

He reinjured the same knee on the January 30, 2017, episode of WWE RAW. During his main roster debut, Samoa Joe attacked Rollins, and in the process of applying the Coquina Clutch, he re-tore Rollins’ MCL. The injury put his expected WrestleMania 33 match against Triple H in jeopardy, but Rollins rehabbed intensely and was cleared to compete in the match, which he won.

In 2023, Rollins revealed he had been dealing with nagging lower back issues for several years. While this did not cause him to miss significant time, it did force him to alter his in-ring style to manage the pain during his run as the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion.

On the January 15, 2024, episode of RAW, Rollins suffered a Grade 2 tear of his MCL and a partially torn meniscus in his left knee during a title defense against Jinder Mahal. He avoided vacating the World Heavyweight Championship and remained on television in a non-wrestling capacity to build to his matches at WrestleMania 40. Following the event, Rollins took time off to undergo surgery to repair the torn meniscus, returning two months later on the June 17, 2024, episode of RAW. We wish him a speedy recovery.
