WWE’s Johnny Gargano Issues Heartfelt Statement On Adam Cole’s Injury

Following Adam Cole’s emotional in-ring announcement at last night’s AEW All In: Texas event, where he vacated the TNT Championship due to a health issue, the wrestling world has responded with an outpouring of support. WWE star and longtime friend Johnny Gargano posted a lengthy statement honoring his colleague.

Wrestling World Rallies Around Adam Cole

During the All In pay-per-view, Cole informed the fans that a health setback would force him to be “gone for a while” and that he was unsure if he would be able to wrestle again. The news prompted numerous wrestlers, including Britt Baker, Tommaso Ciampa, and Christopher Daniels, to share their public support for Cole.

Johnny Gargano’s Heartfelt Statement

One of the most notable reactions came from WWE’s Johnny Gargano, who took to Instagram to share details of his 15-year friendship with Cole, which was solidified during their time together in NXT.

“I’ve known @adamcolepro for over 15 years at this point. We were already good friends from our time on the indies, but even more so during our time in NXT. You’d be hard pressed to find someone I spent more time with on a daily basis. We’d go to the Performance Center, sit and watch wrestling with Shawn, eat lunch, then work out with @fla_hayes, and drive to the local Florida coconut shows together on the weekends. We’d always talk about getting a chance to work together on a big stage on those drives. We got that chance when we main evented TakeOver: New York. To my knowledge.. one of the highest grossing NXT events of all time. That night was already incredibly special for me but the fact I got to share it with one of my best friends made that moment mean even more. Nothing but love and well wishes to not just one of my favorite opponents but favorite human beings. 🖤💛”

Following Cole’s announcement at All In, a four-way match was held for the vacated TNT Championship. Daniel Garcia defeated Kyle Fletcher, Sammy Guevara, and Dustin Rhodes to become the new champion.
