WWE Star Arrested During Friday Night SmackDown

In a chaotic segment on the July 18 episode of WWE SmackDown, General Manager Adam Pearce orchestrated an elaborate sting operation that resulted in the arrest of United States Champion Solo Sikoa. The segment culminated with Pearce announcing that Sikoa will defend his title against his cousin, Jacob Fatu, inside a Steel Cage at SummerSlam.

A Frame Job Unfolds

The show opened with a mysterious police scene in the parking lot, where an “accident” had occurred involving members of Solo Sikoa’s faction, the MFT’s. Later in the night, individuals dressed as police officers approached Adam Pearce backstage and identified Jacob Fatu as a person of interest. After a tense conversation in which Fatu initially refused, Pearce convinced him to go with the officers for questioning.

With Fatu seemingly in custody, Solo Sikoa, accompanied by Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and Tala Tonga, came to the ring to address the situation. Sikoa took credit for Fatu’s entire WWE career and condemned his recent betrayal. “Without his guidance, Jacob is reckless… All he cares about is his damn self,” Sikoa said. “He betrayed his family. Once a criminal always a criminal.”

The Tables Are Turned

The storyline took a dramatic turn when Fatu was seen being released from the police car backstage, where his cousin Jimmy Uso was waiting for him. The “officer” informed Fatu that they had reviewed the footage and he was free to go. The two then immediately headed toward the ring.

A massive brawl erupted as Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu charged the ring to confront Sikoa and the MFT’s. The cousins worked together to neutralize Sikoa’s faction, with Jimmy hitting a superkick on Loa and Fatu taking out Mateo. Tala Tonga was taken out on the floor by a double superkick and a crossbody from Jimmy over the ringside barrier, leaving Sikoa alone with Fatu.

SummerSlam Showdown Made Official

As Fatu prepared to attack Sikoa with a chair, Adam Pearce was out and stated, “Solo, if you want to frame an innocent man, let’s see how you like it at SummerSlam,” Pearce declared, officially announcing the match. “You will defend the US Title against Fatu in a steel cage.”

Pearce then brought out the police officers and the segment ended with a shocked Solo Sikoa being handcuffed and taken away as Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso stood tall in the ring. Click here for complete WWE SmackDown results.
