Top WWE Star Spotted Backstage At NXT Live Event

WWE Raw superstar CM Punk was spotted backstage at last night’s NXT live event in Tampa, Florida. The former world champion reportedly made a point to visit with the developmental talent while he was in town for other commitments.

CM Punk Backstage At NXT Live Event

According to a report from Cory Hays of PWNexus and BodySlam.net, CM Punk was in attendance for the NXT house show on Saturday, July 19. Punk had been in Tampa the previous night to serve as a commentator for a Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) event and decided to stay in the city to visit the NXT show.

In a post on Twitter, Hays wrote, “CM Punk was backstage at tonight’s NXT live event in Tampa. He was in town after doing commentary on the Cage Fury Fighting Championship (CFFC) show on Friday night and decided to stay in town and check out the NXT show.”

A Continued Presence In NXT

This is not the first time Punk has been involved with WWE’s developmental brand since his return in November 2023. He has made several on-screen appearances on the weekly NXT television show and has been praised by many of the young talents for offering advice and guidance behind the scenes at the WWE Performance Center.

While Punk continues to mentor the next generation of superstars in NXT, his own focus is set on the biggest match of his current WWE run. He is scheduled to challenge GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship at the SummerSlam premium live event on August 2nd and 3rd.
