Former WWE Star Elayna Black Is Taking A Break From Wrestling

Former WWE NXT star Elayna Black, known to fans as Cora Jade, has announced that she is taking a break from professional wrestling for the foreseeable future. The recently released superstar shared the news in a statement posted to her social media accounts.

Citing Mental Health Concerns

In her statement, Black explained that the decision was made for the good of her mental health. She stated that she needs to step away from the business to see if her passion for it can return.

“I am going to be taking a break from wrestling for the foreseeable future. It’s no longer good for my mental health and I’ll never know if that love for it I once had will return if I don’t step away,” Black wrote. “I’m gonna take the rest of the year to take care of me and go from there.”

Apology To Fans And Promoters

Black also issued an apology to the fans and promoters who had her booked for upcoming appearances, asking for their understanding. She concluded her message with a note of thanks to her supporters.

“I apologize to the fans and promoters who were looking forward to/booked my upcoming appearances. I hope you can understand. To my supporters, thank you,” she wrote.

The announcement comes at a significant time in Black’s career. She was released from her WWE contract in May 2025. Based off the social media reaction, fans have supproted the 24-year-old for chosing to prioritize her well-being and step away from the industry for the remainder of the year.
