WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has weighed in on the “super personal” promo exchange between his daughter, Charlotte Flair, and Tiffany Stratton from this past April. “The Nature Boy” did not hold back, calling the line about his daughter’s past divorces “the cheapest sh*t” he’s ever heard.
Flair Calls Promo Line ‘Hurtful’
The infamous promo took place on an episode of SmackDown leading into their WrestleMania 41 match. During the segment, Stratton mentioned Charlotte’s “0-3″ record in marriages. Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Ric Flair shared his thoughts on the moment.
“You know what? I’m embarrassed for her… I’m not gonna say anymore because I don’t want it to affect anything, but that was the cheapest sh*t I’ve ever heard in my life,” Flair said. “Well, whatever it was (whether it was a work or a shoot), it was hurtful. If it was a shoot, that’s even worse, because that’s nothing to joke about.”
A Heated WrestleMania Rivalry
The personal nature of the feud was a major talking point heading into WrestleMania 41, where Tiffany Stratton defended her WWE Women’s Championship against Charlotte. In a recent interview, Charlotte herself reflected on the rivalry, admitting that it became “extremely heated” but that she was proud of the match they had.
Since their WrestleMania encounter, both women have moved on to new challenges. Tiffany Stratton successfully defended her championship against Trish Stratus at the recent Evolution premium live event. On the same night, Charlotte Flair teamed with Alexa Bliss in a fatal four-way match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
