The new “WWE: Unreal” docuseries on Netflix is giving fans an unprecedented look into the company’s creative process, including a revealed pitch from the writer’s room that would have seen Chelsea Green win the 2025 women’s Royal Rumble match.
The Pitch For Chelsea Green To Win The Royal Rumble
Footage from the series shows a creative pitch being made for the finish of the women’s Royal Rumble match from this past January. The idea discussed in the writer’s room was for the final two competitors to eliminate each other simultaneously just before the 30th entrant was due to come out.
“You get entrant 29 in there. They come in and there’s only two women. They end up doing a double elimination, so whoever is number 30 automatically wins,” the pitch went. “Chelsea Green walks down, wins the Royal Rumble.”
‘We’ll Figure Something Out’
The idea was met with laughter from others in the room. WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, gave a non-committal response, simply saying, “we’ll figure something out.” As fans know, this creative direction was not used, and the 2025 women’s Royal Rumble match was ultimately won by Charlotte Flair.
While the Royal Rumble victory was not in the cards for her, Chelsea Green has remained a prominent character on Monday Night Raw. She is currently the leader of the “Secret Hervice” faction alongside Alba Fyre and Piper Niven. Green has been feuding with the returning WWE Hall of Famer, Nikki Bella, and was a participant in the massive eight-woman tag team match on last night’s go-home show of Raw for SummerSlam.
The creative team discussed an idea where entrants #28 and #29 eliminate each other, and #30, Chelsea Green, wins the Royal Rumble by default.
This was such an interesting idea 😂#WWEUnreal
