Cena captured the championship from Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 41 on April 20th, a victory that officially broke Ric Flair’s record for the most recognized world title reigns. This is Cena’s first world championship since 2017. The milestone comes as Cena is in the final months of his in-ring career, with a retirement match scheduled for December.

Since winning the title, Cena has made two successful defenses against Randy Orton and CM Punk. His farewell tour has taken him around the world, and he currently has 14 confirmed appearances remaining before he hangs up his boots for good.
