SummerSlam Night 1 Card (Saturday, August 2)

World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther (c) vs. CM Punk On the July 14 episode of Raw, a gauntlet match was held to determine the top contender for Gunther’s World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. The grueling match was won by CM Punk, setting the stage for this championship encounter. Punk’s victory places him in one of the weekend’s main events, challenging the dominant and long-reigning champion, Gunther.

Roman Reigns and Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed (with Paul Heyman) This rivalry began at WrestleMania 41, where Paul Heyman betrayed his long-time client Roman Reigns, as well as CM Punk, to align with Seth Rollins. In the weeks that followed, Rollins added Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed to his new alliance. After Rollins suffered an injury, Reigns returned from his hiatus on the July 14 Raw and was immediately targeted by Breakker and Reed. Reigns’ cousin, Jey Uso, came to his aid, leading to Reigns proposing this tag team match via a social media video, which Uso accepted.

WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill The path to this championship match began at the Night of Champions event, where the Queen of the Ring tournament final was won by SmackDown’s Jade Cargill. Per the tournament’s stipulation, the winner would receive a championship match at SummerSlam. At the subsequent Evolution event, Tiffany Stratton retained her WWE Women’s Championship, which officially confirmed that she would be the one to defend her title against “Queen” Jade Cargill.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: The Judgment Day (Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez) (c) vs. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss After declining several offers, Charlotte Flair eventually agreed to form a tag team with her former rival, Alexa Bliss. The duo was part of a fatal four-way tag team match for the titles at the Evolution event, but the champions retained without pinning either Flair or Bliss. Citing this fact, Flair announced on the following episode of SmackDown that she had spoken to management and secured this direct championship match against Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez for her and Bliss at SummerSlam.

Randy Orton and Jelly Roll vs. Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul This celebrity-infused rivalry began when Drew McIntyre interrupted Randy Orton on the July 4 SmackDown. The following week, Logan Paul interrupted a performance by country music star Jelly Roll, leading to a confrontation that also involved Orton and McIntyre. The feud escalated at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Orton defeated McIntyre; following the match, Paul attacked Orton, which prompted Jelly Roll to intervene, only for McIntyre to attack the singer with a Claymore Kick. This led to Orton and Jelly Roll challenging McIntyre and Paul to this tag team match.

Sami Zayn vs. Karrion Kross (with Scarlett) For months, Karrion Kross has been playing psychological games with Sami Zayn, culminating in a match at Night of Champions, which Zayn won. On the following Raw, Kross attacked Zayn with a lead pipe. The feud continued with Kross costing Zayn matches and eventually defeating him on the July 21 Raw after another pipe attack. This rematch was then set for SummerSlam, with an added stipulation: if Kross wins, Zayn must publicly admit “Kross was right,” but if Zayn wins, Kross must admit “I was wrong.”

SummerSlam Night 2 Card (Sunday, August 3)

Undisputed WWE Championship Street Fight: John Cena (c) vs. Cody Rhodes This is a rematch from the main event of WrestleMania 41, where John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes to win the title under controversial circumstances. Rhodes won the 2025 King of the Ring tournament to earn this opportunity. During the contract signing on the July 18 SmackDown, a brawl ensued between the two, which ended with Rhodes forcing Cena to sign the contract. Rhodes then revealed the fine print, which stipulated their match would be a Street Fight. This will also be John Cena’s final in-ring performance at a SummerSlam event.

Women’s World Championship Triple Threat Match: Naomi (c) vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Iyo Sky At the Evolution event, Naomi cashed in her Money in the Bank contract during a one-on-one match between then-champion Iyo Sky and challenger Rhea Ripley, pinning Sky to win the Women’s World Championship. As a result of winning the Raw-branded title, Naomi was transferred to the Raw roster. On the following night’s show, both a furious Ripley and the former champion Sky confronted Naomi, each demanding a title match. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce then scheduled this triple threat match for SummerSlam.

United States Championship Steel Cage Match: Solo Sikoa (c) vs. Jacob Fatu The rivalry between these two members of the Anoa’i family will be settled inside a steel cage. The feud has escalated each week, with Solo Sikoa and his faction attempting to frame Jacob Fatu for a car crash, leading to Fatu’s kayfabe arrest on the July 18 SmackDown. After Fatu returned later that night and sought revenge, it was determined that the only way to settle this blood feud was inside the steel cage with the United States Title on the line to prevent outside interference from Sikoa’s group.

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship No Disqualification, No Countout Last Chance Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria This is a “Last Chance” match for Lyra Valkyria. The rivalry between the two Irish superstars has been one of the most personal in WWE. Valkyria earned this rematch by defeating Bayley. Lynch then proposed that if Valkyria loses, she can never challenge for the title again as long as Lynch is champion. Valkyria accepted and added her own stipulation that the match be No Disqualification and No Countout to guarantee a definitive winner, which Lynch accepted.

WWE Intercontinental Championship: “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. AJ Styles This match was originally postponed from Night of Champions due to an injury sustained by Dominik Mysterio. After weeks of Mysterio claiming he was not medically cleared to compete, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce forced the issue, stating Mysterio would be stripped of the title if he was not re-evaluated. Mysterio then attacked AJ Styles, before announcing that he was, in fact, medically cleared, confirming their championship match for SummerSlam.

WWE Tag Team Championship Six-Pack Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match This match was made to bring order to a chaotic tag team division. After The Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy) won the WWE Tag Team Championship, five other teams vied for a title opportunity. Following weeks of brawls and interference between the teams, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced that The Wyatt Sicks would defend their titles against Andrade & Rey Fenix, #DIY, Fraxiom, Motor City Machine Guns, and The Street Profits in a Six-Pack TLC match.
