Jade Cargill has opened up about the neck injury that kept her out of action in late 2024. In a new interview, she revealed that the injury could have required surgery and discussed the mental toll of being on the sidelines for the first time in her career.
A Neck Injury That ‘Could Have Led To Surgery’
Speaking on the Club 520 podcast, Cargill explained the nature of the injury that wrote her off of television ahead of Survivor Series last year. “I didn’t tear anything. It was more of a neck injury that could have been like, led to surgery, but I didn’t need it,” she said. “Well, I didn’t need it. Eventually, I will, like all wrestlers do.”
The Mental Toll Of Being Sidelined
Cargill, who had never been seriously injured before in her athletic career, spoke about the mental challenge of being forced to sit out. “This was something that I had to sit out, and that was the first time, and that can mess with you mentally… Because there’s nothing I can do. I can’t go out there to show you. I have to just take it, take it, take it,” she recalled. She said the huge crowd reaction she received upon her return at Elimination Chamber 2025 made it one of her favorite career moments.
Having fully recovered from that injury, Cargill is now set for the biggest match of her WWE career tonight on Night One of SummerSlam. She is scheduled to challenge Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship at MetLife Stadium. According to the final betting odds, Cargill is a heavy favorite to capture her first championship on the main roster.
