REPORT: WWE Talent Have Concerns About ‘WWE: Unreal’ Filming In ‘Sacred’ Area

Just days after the premiere of its first season, it appears that work is already underway on a potential second season of the “WWE: Unreal” docuseries. According to a new report, the show’s director was seen filming during one of the most shocking moments of SummerSlam weekend. However, some talent have reportedly expressed concerns about the process.

Potential Second Season of ‘WWE: Unreal’ Being Filmed

A report from Fightful Select has revealed that “WWE: Unreal” director Chris Weaver was in Gorilla Position filming content during Seth Rollins’ surprising Money in the Bank cash-in on Saturday night. While Netflix has not officially renewed a second season, the report notes that the entire angle is expected to be covered in a future batch of episodes.

Talent Concerns Emerge Over Backstage Filming

The same report also provided insight into the backstage reaction to the constant presence of cameras for the series. Some talent reportedly worried about the Gorilla Position, a traditionally private and emotional space for wrestlers, being filmed and becoming one less “sacred” area where they could be vulnerable. It was also noted that some featured talent were not aware they were being filmed specifically for the show, and that those who were featured were not paid anything extra for their appearance.

The footage captured at SummerSlam will likely be a cornerstone of a potential second season. The angle saw Seth Rollins become the new World Heavyweight Champion by cashing in on a victorious CM Punk. The fallout from this shocking title change is expected to be the main focus of tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw, where both Rollins and Punk are scheduled to appear.
