Seth Rollins Says Becky Lynch Was ‘Very Upset’ About His Fake Injury Storyline

Two days after pulling off the “Ruse of the Century” at SummerSlam to become the new World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins has revealed the intricate details of his scheme. In a new interview, Rollins explained how he maintained the elaborate fake injury for three weeks, even if it made his wife, Becky Lynch, “very upset.”

Seth Rollins Details His Elaborate Ruse

Appearing on the Rich Eisen Show, the same show where he gave a fake injury update just weeks ago, Rollins returned to thank the host for being in on the plan. He then revealed how he handled the situation at home with his family.

“My wife is an unwilling participant in this ruse. She was very upset at me for making me lie to all of her friends and family for the better part of three weeks,” Rollins said. He also shared a humorous story about his daughter immediately telling her preschool teacher about his “pretend boo-boo.”

The Pain Of The Fake Injury

Rollins detailed his full commitment to the storyline, using crutches in his daily life for three weeks to sell the injury to the public. He described the process as physically and mentally taxing.

“Limping around on those crutches for three weeks was excruciating. That was painful,” he admitted. “I did it all on crutches. It was excruciating… I was getting irritable, my wife was putting up with me being grumpy. It was a tough one, but we pulled through and did it. For the greater good.”

Rollins stated in the interview that he will provide more insight into his plan on tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw. The new World Heavyweight Champion is scheduled to appear on the post-SummerSlam show, where he will undoubtedly be confronted by the man he cashed in on, CM Punk, who is also scheduled to be in attendance.
