Becky Lynch Mocks Nikki Bella With John Cena Taunt In Heated Exchange On WWE Raw

On the August 4 episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella made a surprise return to confront Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch. The segment, which saw Lynch debut a new theme song, escalated into a deeply personal war of words that ended with Lynch attacking Bella and leaving her in the ring.

A New Era, A New Challenger

The segment began with Becky Lynch making her entrance to a new theme song, which was performed by the band The Wonder Years. In the ring, Lynch boasted about her victory over Lyra Valkyria at SummerSlam and stated it was time to open the floor to new competitors. Her promo was cut short by the entrance music of Nikki Bella, who made her way to the ring.

From Praise to Insults

Nikki began by praising the champion, calling her “one of the greatest of all time,” a compliment Lynch corrected by saying she is “the greatest.” The tone quickly shifted, however, as Nikki then called Lynch “such a disappointment” and accused her of “handcuffing the next generation.” Nikki questioned if Lynch only returned because she was jealous of Lyra Valkyria’s success or because Hollywood isn’t what she thought it would be.

A War of Words Gets Personal

The exchange grew more heated as Lynch fired back, reminding Nikki that her scenes were cut from the movie Happy Gilmore 2. Nikki retorted by calling Lynch a “liar just like her husband,” a reference to the new World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins. She claimed that while everyone bought Seth’s lie, but no one buys Lynch’s lies, and called Lynch the “same scared little girl she was when she entered the division.”

The “You Can’t See Me” Shot

Lynch delivered the most personal insult of the night when she claimed she and Seth Rollins are the “greatest wrestling couple of all time.” She then directed a pointed remark at Nikki, saying that title “would have been Nikki and someone else at one time, but Nikki can’t see him anymore.” Lynch punctuated the comment by performing the “you can’t see me” hand gesture, a direct reference to Nikki’s former fiancé, John Cena. The insult drew a massive reaction from the live crowd, who chanted “holy shit.”

A Challenge and an Ambush

In response, Nikki Bella challenged Becky Lynch to a match for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. As Lynch teased giving an answer, she suddenly dropped Nikki with a sucker punch. The champion then exited the ring, leaving the challenge unanswered and Nikki laid out on the mat.

This confrontation appears to set the stage for a future championship match between the them, likely at the next PLE. Click here for complete WWE Raw results.
