The new behind-the-scenes docuseries, “WWE: Unreal,” has proven to be an immediate hit for Netflix. According to new data released by the streaming service on Monday, the five-episode series cracked the global Top Ten in its first week of release.
A Top Ten Global Debut for ‘WWE: Unreal’
“WWE: Unreal,” which dropped in its entirety on Tuesday, July 29, finished ninth in the world overall for television series on the platform. The show accumulated 2.3 million global viewers and 10.7 million global view hours on a total runtime of four hours and 41 minutes.
An International Success
The docuseries, which gives fans an unprecedented look into the WWE creative process, also finished in the top ten in eight different countries, including major markets like the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Australia. The successful debut highlights the global reach and appeal of the WWE brand.
It remains to be seen if the series will have the staying power to remain in the top ten for another week. While a second season has not yet been officially announced, the show’s director was spotted filming new content during the shocking Seth Rollins cash-in at SummerSlam this past weekend, suggesting more episodes are likely on the way.
