WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H appeared on ESPN’s Get Up this morning and made his first public comments on the shocking return of Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Triple H expressed that the company is “thrilled” to have “The Beast Incarnate” back and explained that it was WWE who initiated the contact to bring him home.
“Time To Come Home”
Brock Lesnar’s return at the conclusion of SummerSlam on Sunday night sent shockwaves through the wrestling world, as many believed he would not be brought back to the company. Triple H confirmed that WWE reached out to Lesnar about a return, and the former champion was receptive to the idea. It was noted on Raw that WWE reached out to Lesnar three weeks ago. It’s been reported that Lesnar was cleared by WWE’s legal team four weeks ago after being mentioned in the Janel Grant lawsuit.
“Have you met Brock Lesnar? Whatever the hell he wants when you’re Brock Lesnar, when that music hits and you walk down that aisle. Doesn’t matter where he is. He sort of does what he wants to do. So we’re thrilled to have the beast back. You know, we hit him up and said, time to come home. And he was into it. And here we are.”
The return immediately created a buzzworthy moment that has dominated wrestling headlines all week. Lesnar has been one of WWE’s biggest box-office attractions for over two decades, and his presence immediately changes the landscape of the main event scene.
A “Massive, Massive Moment”
Triple H emphasized the magnitude of the moment, framing it as a special event for the WWE fans who thought they might never see Lesnar in a WWE ring again. The surprise confrontation with John Cena and Cody Rhodes instantly created a marquee direction for the company heading into the fall.
“And a massive, massive moment for our WWE fans something that they wouldn’t they felt they wouldn’t get to see, and making a statement, as you’re watching right now with John Cena, you know, huge, and we’re thrilled to have him back.”
Brock Lesnar’s return has set up a match against John Cena, although it’s unclear when that bout will take place.
