Triple H: “WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble Are Going To Be Bigger Than Ever”

In an appearance on ESPN’s “Get Up” Wednesday morning to announce a new streaming partnership between WWE and ESPN, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque called the deal the “biggest opportunity” for the company. He also touted the success of the recent two-night SummerSlam event and stated that WWE is the “hottest it’s ever been.”

A “Perfect Marriage” with ESPN

Levesque expressed his excitement about bringing WWE’s Premium Live Events to ESPN’s platforms starting in 2026. “It’s incredible,” he said. “For what we consider the worldwide leader in sports entertainment, to be with the worldwide leader of sports and entertainment, ESPN, there’s nothing bigger. There’s no bigger opportunity for us than this right now. And on top of that, to be in the Disney family, so to speak. We’re thrilled.”

Bigger Spectacles to Come

He stated that the partnership would allow WWE to produce even larger events by leveraging ESPN’s production expertise. “From my point of view, nobody does large scale, massive events like ESPN,” Levesque stated. “It’s what you do, and it’s what we like to think we do better than anybody else on the planet. So this is the perfect marriage. When we get together, things like Wrestlemania, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble are going to be bigger than ever. They’re going to be more of a spectacle than they’ve ever been before.”

A “Massively Successful” SummerSlam

Levesque also reflected on the success of the first-ever two-night SummerSlam, which took place this past weekend at MetLife Stadium. “For the first time ever… two nights back to back, 113,000 crazy fans descend upon that New York, New Jersey area, like only WWE fans can,” he said. “We took over a city… It was incredible, massively successful event.” He noted the presence of athletes like Russell Wilson and Tyrese Haliburton, as well as celebrities like Jelly Roll and Logan Paul, as evidence of the event becoming a “cultural moment.”

The Hottest It’s Ever Been

The successful weekend and new media deal are part of what Levesque sees as a peak period for the company. “It’s the hottest it’s ever been,” he said. “You know, Nick [Khan] and I had a conversation with our employees and our talent… about plans of where we wanted to go. And you know, we see the ecosystem, NFL, NBA, and we’re right there, and we’re coming at them.” He also credited the strength of WWE’s developmental system for the company’s bright future.

The new partnership between WWE and ESPN is set to begin in 2026. The full interview with Paul “Triple H” Levesque can be seen on ESPN’s “Get Up.” Click below to watch.
