Booker T On Brock Lesnar’s Return: “I’m Glad He’s Got His Name Cleared”

On his “Hall of Fame” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T shared his thoughts on the surprise return of Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, stating he is “glad” that Lesnar has had his “name cleared” and is back in the ring after a year-long hiatus.

“Glad He’s Gotten Past This Drama”

Booker T addressed Lesnar’s absence from WWE programming. Lesnar was kept off of television after he was named, though not as a defendant, in the Janel Grant lawsuit filed against Vince McMahon and WWE in early 2024. The lawsuit alleged that McMahon had offered sexual favors from Grant as a tool to negotiate a new contract with Lesnar. “You know what? I’m glad he’s gotten past this drama,” Booker said. “Because the hardest thing you know when you’re going through drama is just having to sit back and not being able to say anything. I’m glad he’s got his name cleared and now he’s able to get back in the ring and do what he does best”.

He went on to praise Lesnar’s overall career and unique place in the business, calling him a future Hall of Famer in his own right. “Brock Lesnar has had a hell of a Hall of Fame career. He’s definitely been one of the best that this business has ever seen,” Booker T stated.

Booker T also gave his assessment of what makes Lesnar a special performer, noting that he doesn’t fit the traditional mold of a “five-star match” technical wrestler. “He didn’t do it the traditional route, like most wrestlers, as far as going out there having so called five star matches,” he explained. “He just went out there and beat the hell out of guys where you say, ‘Man, that was five stars.’ Five Star ass, whoopin'”.

Booker reiterated his happiness to see Lesnar back, acknowledging the precarious nature of public accusations. “I like it. Brock coming back, having his name cleared. Like I said, that’s huge,” he said. “This world that we live in today, all it takes, boom… one allegation, one accusation, and your life could be uprooted totally. So I’m just glad, like I said, to see him back in the ring doing what he does best, and let’s go out there and kick people ass”.

Brock Lesnar returned at the conclusion of SummerSlam Night 2, attacking John Cena after his match with Cody Rhodes, setting up a major feud for the fall.
