WWE Hall of Famer and NXT commentator Booker T had high praise for two stars of the women’s division following their performances at SummerSlam. On his “Hall of Fame” podcast, he singled out Women’s World Champion Naomi and his former student, Roxanne Perez, for their recent work.
High Praise for Naomi
Booker T, who has been a long-time supporter of Naomi, stated that she is currently performing at the highest level of her career. “Naomi is doing her best damn work right now. No nonsense. She going out there and she’s just knocking it out of the park,” he said. “I mean, her timing is great. This is the Naomi that I was I’ve been talking about for years, this one right here”.
The Key to Her Improvement
He explained what he feels has elevated her performance, pointing to an improvement in her in-ring storytelling. “I always said Naomi was the best athlete in the women’s locker room, but it’s something that I need her to work on that’s going to really take her to the next level,” Booker explained. “Maybe it was her leaving the WWE going to TNA and having that run, but what I was talking about was her storytelling… being able to let the crowd not just see it, but being able to feel it… when I watched this match, Naomi’s timing is unbelievable. Right now she she gets it”.
“Sky’s the Limit” for Roxanne Perez
Booker T, who trained Roxanne Perez at his Reality of Wrestling school in Houston, was also effusive in his praise for the young star, even though she and her partner lost their Women’s Tag Team titles at SummerSlam. “You know, I’m gonna tell you right now, the sky’s the limit for Roxanne Perez. It really is,” he stated.
Swimming with the Big Fish
He commented on how well she has adapted to the main roster, competing against established veterans. “I mean, she’s right now swimming with the big fish, and she looks like she fits right in. That’s what I love about Roxanne Perez,” he said. “She’s stepping up to the moment and going out there and representing the hell out of Reality of Wrestling, because she is truly Reality of Wrestling’s finest. She truly is”.
