A new television special from TMZ focusing on the life and complicated legacy of the late Hulk Hogan is set to premiere on Tuesday, August 12, on FOX. Titled “TMZ Presents: The Real Hulk Hogan,” the documentary will be the first major special to air following the cultural icon’s death on July 24, 2025.
Exploring a Complicated Legacy
According to the official press release, the special aims to provide a comprehensive look at the wrestling legend’s career. The program will explore how Hogan “forever changed professional wrestling and became one of the biggest icons in America,” while also examining the “tragedies and self-inflicted wounds” that “complicate his legacy.”
A Star-Studded List of Interviewees
The documentary will feature interviews with a wide array of figures from wrestling and entertainment who knew Hogan throughout his life. “Hulk’s closest friends, competitors, and fellow champions discuss how one man, Terry Bollea, changed pop culture forever,” the release states. The list of interviewees includes actor Sylvester Stallone, former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, and WWE Hall of Famers Mick Foley, Bill Goldberg, Jimmy Hart, and Mark Henry.
Current WWE Superstars to Appear
In addition to legends from Hogan’s past, the special will also include interviews with current WWE Superstars, showing his influence across different generations. Confirmed to appear are Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and Jacob Fatu, a member of the legendary Anoa’i family.

“TMZ Presents: The Real Hulk Hogan” is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, August 12, from 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT on the FOX network. For those who miss the initial broadcast, the special will be available for streaming the next day on Hulu. It will also be available on Fox.com, Tubi, and various On Demand platforms for customers of major cable and satellite providers.
The special is executive produced by Harvey Levin, Ryan Regan, Don Nash, Charles Latibeaudiere, and Jess Fusco, with Susan Favre serving as co-executive producer. Airing just weeks after Hogan’s passing, the documentary is poised to be a significant look at the life of one of the most famous and controversial figures in entertainment history.
