WWE has made significant changes to the lineup for its upcoming five-event tour of the United Kingdom, with several of the company’s top champions having been pulled from the shows.
WWE Champions Pulled From UK Tour
In a revised lineup for the tour, which runs from August 23-28, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and the new World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins are no longer advertised to appear. Both champions were featured in the original banner promoting the tour.
On the women’s side, Rhea Ripley has also been removed from the advertisements without an official explanation. The absences of Bianca Belair and GUNTHER are less surprising, as Belair is still recovering from a finger injury, and GUNTHER is expected to take time off for nose surgery following his title loss at SummerSlam.
CM Punk’s Big Role On The WWE Tour
To compensate for the lost star power, WWE has added CM Punk to all five dates. He is set to have a major role on the tour, which serves as a lead-in to the Clash in Paris premium live event on August 31. For the opening night in Liverpool, Punk is advertised to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship.
For the remaining four dates, he will team with Sami Zayn and Penta to take on The Judgment Day in a series of six-man tag team matches. While the card is always subject to change, the current lineup represents a significant shift from what was originally promoted to UK fans.
