Cody Rhodes Has High Praise For Jacob Fatu: “He’s Special”

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has heaped praise on WWE SmackDown’s newest star, Jacob Fatu, calling him “really special” and noting that everyone in WWE is impressed with the former United States Champion.

Cody Rhodes On Meeting Jacob Fatu

Speaking on his “What Do You Wanna Talk About” podcast, Rhodes recalled his first time meeting Fatu years ago on the independent circuit. He noted that even then, he knew who he was and they immediately shared a bond.

“I met him at All Pro Wrestling in San Francisco. I knew right away who he was and we started Uce’n each other,” Rhodes said. “I had been around Jimmy and Jey throughout my whole first run with WWE. Jacob is really special.”

Everyone In WWE Impressed With Fatu

“The American Nightmare” explained that despite Fatu being new to the WWE system, he feels a need to look out for him and that the entire locker room is impressed with what they’ve seen so far.

“He feels like a little baby here and I want to make sure everything is right. He’s special,” Rhodes stated. “I know everyone here is incredibly impressed with Jacob, too. When something good happens for him, all of us are like, ‘Awesome.’”

Rhodes’ praise for Fatu comes after they had very different outcomes at the recent SummerSlam premium live event. On Night Two, Cody Rhodes defeated John Cena in a Street Fight to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. On the same night, Jacob Fatu unsuccessfully challenged Solo Sikoa for the United States Championship in a steel cage match. The full interview with Cody Rhodes can be heard on the “What Do You Wanna Talk About” podcast.
