WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash shared his candid thoughts on the presentation of Jade Cargill, stating that he believes the physically imposing superstar is being miscast as a babyface. Nash argued that Cargill is a “natural heel” and that a character turn is necessary to unlock her full potential.
Jade Cargill has been presented as one of the top stars in the women’s division since her debut, culminating in a WWE Women’s Championship match against Tiffany Stratton at SummerSlam. While her look and presence are undeniable, some fans and critics have felt that her babyface character has not fully connected with the audience.
A Natural Heel
On his Kliq This podcast, Nash gave his blunt assessment of Cargill’s character. He believes her look, attitude, and power-based move set are perfectly suited for a dominant heel role.
“The fucking problem you have with Jade is [that[ she is a fucking heel. She’s not a baby face, right? I mean… she’s a natural. She looks like a fucking Marvel comic character. She’s the narcissist. I just don’t get it, man.”
The Next Progression
Nash feels that a heel turn is the logical next step in her character’s evolution. He sees massive potential in future matchups against top babyfaces like Rhea Ripley if Cargill is allowed to embrace her more villainous side.
“I think that will be the next progression we go right. Because the money is with her. And the match she just had, that’s a rematch there. If, if you turn her heel, she’s got, then she’s got Rhea to work with. I just don’t see her as a babyface, right? In heels. She can. She has power moves. She’s aggressive… She’s not Bianca. She’s not smiling and swirling her fucking ponytail around. She’s not that girl…I’m coming down in Jamaican colors. Go fuck yourself, right?”
Jade Cargill was unsuccessful in her championship challenge at SummerSlam. Nash’s critique echoes a sentiment shared by a portion of the fan base who believe a heel turn would be the catalyst to propel Cargill into the main event scene permanently.
