WWE PLE Reportedly Scheduled For Same Day As AEW All Out

In a major competitive move, WWE is reportedly planning to run a premium live event on Saturday, September 20th, the same day as AEW’s annual All Out pay-per-view. The move would mark the first time a main roster WWE PLE will air in direct competition with an AEW pay-per-view.

WWE To Run A PLE On The Same Day As AEW All Out

According to a report from POST Wrestling, multiple sources have confirmed that a yet-to-be-announced WWE premium live event will take place on Saturday, September 20, in Indianapolis, Indiana. AEW’s All Out is scheduled for the same night from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada.

While WWE’s NXT brand has held premium live events on the same day as AEW shows in the past, this would be the first time a main roster event like this has been scheduled as direct counter-programming. The start time for the WWE event has not yet been confirmed, but AEW All Out is scheduled to begin its main card at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Part Of WWE’s Indiana Partnership

The decision to hold the event in Indianapolis is part of a larger partnership between WWE and the Indiana Sports Corp, which was announced in June 2024. The deal has already brought the Royal Rumble to the state and includes plans for future two-night WrestleMania and SummerSlam events at Lucas Oil Stadium.

WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, is also scheduled to be in Indianapolis earlier that month, as he will be speaking at the TEDSports conference from September 9-11. The venue for the September 20 PLE has not been confirmed, but Gainbridge Fieldhouse is a likely candidate.

The reported PLE is part of a busy Midwest weekend for WWE, which also has a Friday Night SmackDown scheduled for September 19th in Toledo, Ohio, and a Monday Night Raw on September 22nd in Evansville, Indiana.

The addition of this new event makes for a crowded fall schedule for wrestling fans. For WWE, the rest of the year’s PLE schedule includes Clash in Paris on August 31, the newly announced Indianapolis PLE on September 20, Crown Jewel on October 11, and Survivor Series on November 29. For AEW, their remaining pay-per-view schedule includes Forbidden Door on August 24, All Out on September 20, WrestleDream on October 18, Full Gear on November 22, and Worlds End on December 27.

The stage is now set for a major head-to-head battle on Saturday, September 20, forcing wrestling fans to make a choice between the two premier promotions in North America.
