Tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw is set to feature two major women’s championship matches and a show-opening address from CM Punk. The show will emanate live from Quebec City, as the road to Clash in Paris on August 31 begins.
CM Punk Kicks Off Raw
The broadcast will begin with an appearance from CM Punk, who will address the events of SummerSlam Night 1 for the first time. Punk won the World Heavyweight Championship from Gunther in the main event, only to have Seth Rollins immediately cash in his Money in the Bank contract to steal the title.
Women’s World Championship: Naomi (c) vs. Iyo Sky
In the first of two major title matches, the new Women’s World Champion, Naomi, will defend her championship against the former champion, IYO SKY. Naomi won the title at SummerSlam in a triple threat match that also involved Rhea Ripley. Tonight’s match will be Sky’s official one-on-one rematch for the championship she lost just two nights ago.
Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Maxxine Dupri
The second championship match of the evening will see “The Man” Becky Lynch defend her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Maxxine Dupri. Lynch is coming off a successful title defense against Lyra Valkyria at SummerSlam. Dupri, a member of Alpha Academy, will be looking to score the biggest victory of her young career and bring a championship to her faction.
Sami Zayn vs. Rusev
Additionally, Sami Zayn is scheduled to take on Rusev. Raw airs live tonight at 8/7c on the USA Network.
