WWE Considered A Different Match For Raw Star This Week

A new report from PWInsider has revealed another creative change that was made to this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw after Women’s World Champion Naomi was not medically cleared to compete.

Scrapped Raw Plans Revealed

According to the report, after the originally scheduled main event of Naomi vs. IYO SKY was canceled, there was talk of another match being put in its place. The idea discussed was a tag team match that would have seen Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY team up to take on the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.

A Different Direction For Raw

Ultimately, the company decided to go in a different direction. The show instead featured a non-title singles match between IYO SKY and Roxanne Perez, a bout that ended with the breakup of the Kabuki Warriors when Asuka and Kairi Sane interfered and cost SKY the match.

The show also saw the announcement of a new World Heavyweight Championship match for the Clash in Paris premium live event, a decision that was made after the originally scheduled main event ended due outside interference. The full report can be read on PWInsider.com.
