Booker T Tells Insane Story Of Punching A Fan At A WWE House Show

On his “Hall of Fame” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T shared a wild and shocking story from his early days in WWE, where he punched a teenage fan at a house show after the fan spit on him. The incident, which was caught on camera, led to him being “put on notice” by WWE management.

“He Ran Up to the Rail and He Spit on Me”

Booker T began by setting the scene, which took place as he was walking to the back after a match. “I remember one time I was leaving the ring, it was after a match. This kid… ran up to the rail and he spit on me, and it was like a loogie,” he recalled. “It just got off. Just got me good man.”

“He Went About Four Rolls”

His reaction was immediate and violent. “And I ran so hard, and I hit that kid. He went about four rows,” Booker T stated. He later clarified the nature of the physicality: “Oh, I punched him. I whacked him… I literally, I ran, a running start, out bang, and he went flying.”

Caught on Tape

The incident was captured by WWE’s cameras, a fact that Booker T was unaware of until he was confronted by management a few days later. “So got to Monday, and I got called into the office, actually, not to the office, but the TV truck, and they go ‘Booker, did you have an incident this weekend?’ I go, ‘not really,'” he said. “And they pulled it up, and it was about 10 cameras, 10 TVs, I mean, and they played it and they showed me run up, and I hit that kid, boom. I couldn’t say anything. I was totally busted.”

The Aftermath

While he didn’t receive a major punishment, the company had to make things right with the fan. “And I don’t know, I think they had to pay that kid off and give him… lifetime tickets,” he said. He said he was also given a stern warning by the company to make sure that didn’t happen again.

Booker T noted that the incident happened shortly after he arrived in WWE from WCW and was part of a wild first year with the company that also included him accidentally injuring “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, tearing a security guard’s ACL, and refusing a Hair vs. Hair match at WrestleMania.
