Karrion Kross On WWE Future: “We Still Want To Be There. We Still Want To Work It Out”

Despite confirming his departure from WWE after a contentious contract negotiation, Karrion Kross has made it clear that his goal is still to be with the company. In a recent interview, the former NXT Champion stated that he and his wife, Scarlett, still want to work for WWE and that he has not closed the door on future conversations.

Kross’s contract with WWE officially expired on August 10, 2025, making him and Scarlett two of the hottest free agents in the industry. He revealed that the company rescinded its contract offer after he asked for more information and was given a 24-hour deadline to accept. While the situation sounds acrimonious, Kross was clear that he is not looking to burn any bridges.

Clear Things Up

Speaking with Ariel Helwani, Kross took pains to clarify that his telling of the negotiation story was not meant to attack or disparage WWE. He explained that he was only sharing the facts to clear up the “convoluted stories” that were circulating online, which could affect his and Scarlett’s ability to find work elsewhere.

“This isn’t like, I know how a lot of people will feel when they make an exit, right? I can empathize with everybody’s experience. Every experience exit in the company is different, right? This isn’t like to disparage WWE, but because there’s so many convoluted stories out there going on, it actually, even to some degree, can affect our livelihood of what we’re supposed to be doing afterwards. People don’t want to reach out because they’re not sure if they’re tampering and stuff like that.”

“We Still Want To Be There”

He stated that he never walked away from the negotiating table and is still open to talking. “The goal has always been to be with WWE, my wife, and I still want to be like, with WWE, like, I’m still at the I’m at the table for conversations. I did not step out of the conversation. We still want to be there. We still want to work it out.”
