Dave Lagreca On Nia Jax Vs. Lash Legend: “The Best Match That I Have Ever Seen From Nia Jax”

On the latest episode of “Busted Open Radio,” hosts Dave LaGreca and Tommy Dreamer had high praise for the recent NXT match between Nia Jax and Lash Legend, with LaGreca calling it the best match of Nia Jax’s career and Dreamer explaining the in-ring psychology that made the powerhouse encounter so successful.

The Best of Nia Jax

LaGreca opened the conversation by stating that the match was a standout performance for Jax, who has often been a polarizing figure among fans. “That might have been the best match that I have ever seen from Nia Jax,” he said. “That’s not a knock… but you want to talk about drama and talking about seeing the best of her, Lash Legend was able to bring that out of her last night on NXT.”

A Clash of Titans

WWE Hall of Famer Tommy Dreamer explained why the matchup worked so well, comparing it to classic big-man encounters. “When you are a bigger person and you’re able to have matches with somebody who can either base for you, catch you, do things that normal… when you’re working with smaller people, they bring that out of you, but also you feel more secure,” Dreamer stated. “Look at like, Big Show and Mark Henry always had a great synergy. When Vader wrestled bigger guys, Vader, you were like, ‘Whoa,’ because I’ve never seen somebody do that.”

Old School Psychology

Both hosts praised the “throwback” and “old school” feel of the match, noting its lack of wasted movement and its compelling story. “Everything Lash Legend did in the ring last night was the goal of knocking Nia Jax off her feet,” LaGreca said. Dreamer added that the match told a great story of Lash Legend finally being dominated by a larger opponent. “The psychology, it’s the first time you really felt bad for Lash because someone else can dominate her,” he explained.

A “Rocky-esque” Finish

The hosts also loved the finish of the match, where a dominant Lash Legend made one crucial mistake that cost her the victory. “All Lash did was throw an interception, and she lost the game,” Dreamer analogized. “She had a great point, she had a great match, she had a great showing for herself. And it was like, if she would have hit that she would have won.” LaGreca agreed, “Lash went for the powerbomb, and then the weight went from under her, and Nia Jax was able to get the 1-2-3. I thought that was the perfect way.”

A Win for Both Women

Ultimately, the hosts agreed that the match was a major success for both competitors. It showcased Nia Jax’s strengths as a dominant force and gave Lash Legend her “best performance ever,” establishing her as a major player in the NXT women’s division.
