Kevin Nash Clarifies He Did Not Have A Seat At WWE SummerSlam After Bret Hart’s Comments

On the latest episode of his “Kliq This” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash responded directly to recent public comments made by fellow Hall of Famer Bret Hart. Hart had expressed frustration about not being given a seat at WWE SummerSlam and specifically named Nash as someone who appeared to receive preferential treatment, a claim Nash firmly denied.

The comments from Hart were made during an interview where he discussed feeling underappreciated by WWE. Co-host Sean Oliver recapped the quote on the podcast: “I went to SummerSlam… They told me that they wanted me to be in the crowd. And then they told me, once I got there, they didn’t have any seat for me, but I noticed Kevin Nash got a seat.” The specific mention of Nash by name led to speculation that Hart believed Nash’s friendship with Paul “Triple H” Levesque had secured him a spot.

Nash used his podcast to correct the story, stating unequivocally that he was not at the show as a guest of the company and did not have a special seat provided for him.

Well, number one, I didn’t go to the show because I knew I didn’t have a seat… My whole thing was, I [did] a signing inside the arena, inside MetLife. So I did a signing, you know, at like 1:30 till three o’clock or something like that.

Upon hearing what Hart had said, Nash revealed that he took the step to contact him personally to clear the air about the misunderstanding. “I actually called Bret today,” Nash stated on the podcast.

Nash also provided the specific reason why he no longer attends WWE events as a fan, detailing a past negative experience watching a show from a private suite.

I stopped going after they put me in a fucking box, and the monitor in the box didn’t work, and the ring was so fucking small and we were so far away that we had to watch, like, look up and watch the fucking Tron, like, with no fucking announcing… It’s bad enough to fucking have to watch fucking wrestling without fucking being able to fucking fast forward through shit, let alone no fucking announcing and volume.

Nash concluded by reiterating his side of the story, clarifying that his presence at MetLife Stadium was strictly for a contracted autograph session and not as a guest of WWE. He speculated that his name was likely invoked by Hart because of the perception of his relationship with WWE management, saying, “I guess my name got brought up because it would be Oh, Triple H’s buddy fucking got a seat.”
