All Elite Wrestling has filed a new trademark for “September To Remember.” The filing has sparked speculation that the company may be planning a special themed event for next month.
AEW Files ‘September To Remember’ Trademark
On August 18th, AEW filed to trademark the name for entertainment purposes. The filing covers “Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of professional wrestling programs and events.”
A Nod To ECW History
The name is a clear homage to one of ECW’s flagship pay-per-view events, “November to Remember,” which was a staple of the promotion throughout the 1990s. AEW has a number of former ECW legends under contract, including Taz and Jerry Lynn. AEW President Tony Khan is a well-known ECW fan and has stated the promotion as a major influence on his own wrestling promotion
The company’s next major pay-per-view is All Out, which is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, in Toronto, Canada. It is possible that the “September To Remember” name could be used for a special episode of Dynamite or Collision in the lead-up to that event.
