REPORT: Chris Jericho’s Name “Hasn’t Come Up” In WWE Creative Amid Return Speculation

A new report from Fightful Select has provided an update on the status of Chris Jericho, whose AEW contract is set to expire later this year. The situation has fueled widespread speculation about a potential return to WWE.

Chris Jericho’s AEW Contract Status

According to the report, Jericho is signed with All Elite Wrestling through the end of 2025 and still has a number of months left on his current deal. He has not been seen on AEW programming since mid-April, when he was written off of television after walking out on his Learning Tree stablemates, Big Bill and Bryan Keith.

It was noted that there have been no recent creative discussions regarding Jericho’s return to AEW programming, but he typically speaks directly with AEW President Tony Khan about his creative direction. The report also confirmed that Big Bill and Bryan Keith are no longer listed as members of “The Learning Tree” on AEW’s internal roster.

WWE Return Rumors

The speculation about a potential return to WWE was ignited when Jericho “liked” a post on Instagram that suggested he should go back to the company. This was followed by reports that a WWE return had been discussed internally.

However, the new Fightful report has pumped the brakes on those rumors. WWE sources who were spoken to stated that Jericho’s name “hasn’t come up whatsoever around the creative process.” While some talent have been speculating, and a WWE higher-up confirmed that Jericho remains on good terms with the company, another source called the situation “far too early to tell.”

The full report can be found on Fightful Select.
