AEW star Dustin Rhodes has provided an update on his injury status, revealing that he underwent double knee replacement surgery on August 21.
Dustin Rhodes’s Double Knee Replacement
In a post on his social media earlier this week, “The Natural” shared the serious news with his fans, explaining that the damage to both of his knees is too severe for a simple repair. Despite the diagnosis, he vowed that this will not be the end of his in-ring career.
“Knees are both destroyed. I have to go under the knife August 21st,” Rhodes wrote. “They can’t actually fix the damage so we are getting 2 knee Replacements. Damn! #KeepSteppin By the way…….This Is NOT THE END”
The Dustin Rhodes Injury And Recovery
The 56-year-old veteran also noted that at his age, the recovery process will be a long one. This surgery leaves his status as a double champion in Ring of Honor in question, as he currently holds both the ROH World Tag Team and Six-Man Tag Team Championships.
Dustin Rhodes signed a new six-year contract with AEW in 2024, which includes roles as a coach and ambassador in addition to his in-ring work. Fans can follow his recovery journey on his official social media accounts.
