AAA Wrestlers Reportedly Have Mixed Feelings About New WWE Partnership

WWE President Nick Khan recently addressed the roster of AAA, assuring the talent that WWE is not there to “take over the product.” The speech was delivered backstage before the recent Triplemanía XXXIII event.

Nick Khan’s Speech To The AAA Roster

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported on the speech from the WWE President. “Khan gave a speech to the talent before the show and told them he wanted to make it clear that WWE is not there to take over the product,” Meltzer wrote. “They are only there to assist them in being seen globally, and to ultimately put more money into all of their pockets.”

Mixed Reaction From AAA Talent

The report also noted that the reaction from the AAA talent was mixed. While a couple of wrestlers were said to be “hopeful” about the partnership, they also expressed concern about new restrictions in their contracts. The new deals reportedly do not allow them to take independent bookings in the United States, which has been a significant source of income for many luchadors.

Multiple WWE stars competed at the Triplemanía XXXIII event, such as when Dominik Mysterio challenged for the AAA Mega Championship in a fatal 4-way bout. The full report can be found in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
