The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) have released a new episode of their “Being The Elite” web series that teases the return of AEW original, Jack Perry.
A Call From Jack Perry
In a short, 47-second video titled “Guess Who Called The Bucks,” the brothers are shown in a messy hotel room surrounded by empty Pepsi bottles and pizza boxes, watching footage from their brutal Lights Out Steel Cage match at last night’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
During the video, Matt Jackson’s phone rings. The camera focuses on the phone, and the caller ID clearly shows the name “Jack Perry.” After a moment of hesitation, Matt declines the call.
Jack Perry’s AEW Hiatus
The teaser is the first time Perry has been referenced on AEW-affiliated programming since his last appearance for the company. Perry has not been on AEW television since he lost the TNT Championship to Daniel Garcia at the Full Gear pay-per-view in November 2024. He unsuccessfully challenged for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship at NJPW’s Wrestle Dynasty event on January 5.
Recent reports from Fightful and WrestleVotes have noted that Perry has been backstage at recent AEW tapings and that there have been internal discussions about his potential return to the company. The new episode of “Being The Elite” can be seen on their official YouTube channel.
