A new report indicates that an announcement is imminent regarding All Elite Wrestling’s pay-per-view events. According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, Zarian, who has a track record of breaking wrestling stories, reported on Thursday that an official announcement is on the horizon.
Live AEW Pay-Per-Views Coming To HBO Max?
“Hearing that there will be an announcement regarding AEW PPVs on HBO Max in the coming weeks,” Zarian stated.
Currently, AEW’s live pay-per-view events are available to purchase in the United States through traditional cable and satellite providers, as well as Amazon Prime and other streaming services. Fans have long speculated a move to HBO Max as a logical next step. Both AEW’s weekly television shows, Dynamite and Collision, are simulcast on TBS and TNT, as well as on the HBO Max platform, which is owned by the same parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery.

One of the logistical hurdles that has been discussed in the past is how the company would structure such a deal without completely losing the revenue generated from traditional pay-per-view buys. WWE sells exclusivity of its PLE rights out to Peacock and, soon, the main roster shows to ESPN.
AEW is coming off a successful Forbidden Door event and is now building towards its next pay-per-view, All Out, which is scheduled for September 20. An official announcement in the coming weeks could mean that All Out might be the first AEW pay-per-view to stream on HBO Max.
