Pat McAfee To Star In New Netflix Movie

WWE announcer Pat McAfee has been cast in a new Netflix movie that is currently in production. Netflix Sports announced that McAfee will play the role of a US Marine Drill Instructor in the upcoming film, “The Mosquito Bowl.”

Pat McAfee’s ‘Mosquito Bowl’ Role

The film is being directed by Peter Berg and is based on a true story. The synopsis, per Netflix Sports, reads: “Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, four of America’s top college football stars set their fame aside to enlist in the Marines. As they prepare for the brutal invasion of Okinawa, they’ll play in a legendary game featuring some of the greatest players in history – a game that, for many, will be the last they ever play.”

McAfee responded to the announcement on his own social media, sharing a look at himself in character. “An honor of a lifetime. THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY,” he wrote.

A Busy Time For Pat McAfee

McAfee has been on hiatus from his WWE Raw commentary duties for several months to focus on his mental health and other commitments, including his daily “Pat McAfee Show.” His return to WWE programming has already been announced.

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque recently confirmed that McAfee will be a part of the Wrestlepalooza premium live event in his hometown of Indianapolis on September 20. A release date for “The Mosquito Bowl” has not yet been announced.
