As a former two-time WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre has faced nearly every top name in the company over the past decade. In a new interview, he revealed two opponents he has his sights set on for the future: one from the younger generation, and one beast he’d like to face again once he wins back the WWE Championship.
The Younger Generation
McIntyre’s career has seen him battle legends like The Undertaker, Randy Orton, and Goldberg. With his focus now on regaining the WWE Championship, he is also looking ahead to the next set of challengers and dream matches that a new title reign would bring.
When asked by Adam Glyn of Adam’s Apple to name a dream match, McIntyre immediately pointed to Bron Breakker. “The younger generation, let’s go with a Bron Breakker. We’ve never had a singles match.”
Welcoming “The Beast”
McIntye also addressed the recent return of Brock Lesnar to WWE. He and Lesnar have a history, as McIntyre defeated “The Beast Incarnate” in the main event of WrestleMania 36 to win his first WWE Championship. Should he become champion again, McIntyre says he would welcome a rematch.
“I know him and Cena, when it happens, it’s going to be a big one. I know he wants to get even with Drew McIntyre, since I beat him for my first world title at WrestleMania, who knows? Maybe [he’ll] chasing down Drew McIntyre next. I welcome the beast when I’m champion, if he wants to challenge me for the title.”
