Karrion Kross On Scrapped Post-SummerSlam Creative: “It Was Something People Would Have Enjoyed”

Former WWE superstar Killer Kross, known in WWE as Karrion Kross, has revealed that a “really big” creative plan for him following the SummerSlam premium live event was scrapped at the last minute. This adds another layer to the story of his recent departure from the company. Kross and his wife, Scarlett, were written off of WWE television after his loss to Sami Zayn at SummerSlam.

Speaking to Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, Kross was asked about the creative plans for him leading into and coming out of the SummerSlam event. He confirmed that a new storyline was in place for him to begin on the post-PLE episode of Monday Night Raw, but the plan was suddenly canceled. The storyline involved another superstar, though Kross declined to name them in order to not jeopardize their own creative direction.

“The creative we were supposed to have on Monday Night Raw got killed on Sunday. The creative involved other people,” Kross said. “I would love to tell people that want to know, but that idea could still be salvaged for that other person involved, so I don’t want to jack up their creative talking about it, but it was something really big and it was something people would have enjoyed. I can tell you that right now. Maybe one day we can do that creative and we can revisit this conversation.”

The cancellation of this “really big” creative plan just one day before it was set to begin adds more context to his eventual departure from the company just a week later. The timeline suggests a rapid and unexpected change in the company’s plans for him, which ultimately led to the breakdown in contract negotiations and his exit from WWE.

Kross was given a 24-hour deadline to sign a new contract with WWE, which he declined, although has expressed interest in returning to the company. Kross is now a free agent and has already made a surprise appearance on the independent circuit, showing up at a GCW Homecoming event alongside Scarlett. In the same interview with Denise Salcedo, Scarlett also confirmed that she will be returning to the ring as an active competitor now that they are no longer with WWE.
