All Elite Wrestling continues its multi-week residency at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia with tonight’s episode of Dynamite. The show is set to feature an AEW TBS Championship match, an eight-man tag team main event, and a special ceremony honoring an ECW legend. This is the second of seven shows AEW and Ring of Honor will present from the former ECW Arena as the company builds towards the All Out pay-per-view.
Tonight’s broadcast will feature a championship match, as the reigning AEW TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone, is scheduled to defend her title against Alex Windsor. Mone is coming off a successful title defense at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, where she defeated Windsor, Persephone, and Bozilla in a four-way match. Windsor earned this one-on-one opportunity by winning a number one contender’s match on a previous episode of Dynamite.
In what is expected to be the main event of the evening, the recently reunited duo of AEW World Champion ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and Kenny Omega will team up with JetSpeed (Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight). They will take on the team of the new AEW International Champion Kyle Fletcher, TNA standout Josh Alexander, and The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson).
The show will also feature a special ceremony honoring one of the most iconic figures in the history of the 2300 Arena because of his ECW days. AEW announcer and ECW legend Taz will be officially inducted into the building’s Hardcore Hall of Fame. The ceremony was originally scheduled for the last episode of AEW Collision. It was moved to tonight’s Dynamite at Taz’s request so that more of his family could be in attendance to celebrate the moment with him.
The fallout from these matches will be a key part of the build to the upcoming All Out pay-per-view, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 20, in Toronto, Canada. Tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite airs live on both TBS and the Max streaming service.
