According to a report from Variety, the classic 1980s animated series “Hulk Hogan‘s Rock ’n’ Wrestling” is coming to the WWE Vault YouTube channel. WWE will begin releasing episodes of the cult classic cartoon in batches of four every Saturday morning, starting this Saturday, September 6.
The series, which originally aired from 1985-1986, featured Hulk Hogan and a group of babyface wrestlers in various situations against a group of heels led by “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Other notable characters in the series included Andre the Giant, Junkyard Dog, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, The Iron Sheik, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, and “Mean” Gene Okerlund.
Due to the wrestlers’ packed travel schedules at the time, none of them provided the voices for their own characters. The voice of the animated Hulk Hogan was provided by actor Brad Garrett. A total of 26 episodes of the series were produced.
WWE will air the episodes in chronological order, with a new one dropping every two hours on Saturday mornings. The first four episodes to be released on the WWE Vault channel are titled: “Junkyard 500/Junkenstein,” “The Four-Legged Pickpocket,” “Clean Gene/Andre’s Giant Problem,” and “Gorilla My Dreams.”
The announcement of the show’s release comes just over one month after the passing of Hulk Hogan (Terry Bollea), who died in Clearwater, FL, at the age of 71.
The WWE Vault channel, which launched on YouTube in June 2024, has grown to nearly 3 million subscribers. The channel features a mix of previously unseen footage, classic matches, and long-form content from WWE’s library and has also allowed fans to vote on content to be posted.
