A new report from Fightful Select has provided an update on the status of AEW manager “Smart” Mark Sterling, confirming that his recently revealed torn biceps is a legitimate injury.
According to the report, Fightful was able to confirm that the torn biceps is indeed a real injury and not a work. This puts to rest any speculation that the injury was simply an on-screen angle. Sterling has been a featured manager in both AEW and Ring of Honor.
The report also revealed that Sterling is scheduled to undergo surgery this Thursday to repair the torn muscle. While a torn biceps is a serious injury that will require a significant recovery period, the company is reportedly optimistic about his return to a non-physical role. “AEW/ROH are hopeful that he’ll return to TV in a few weeks,” the report states. “He won’t be cleared for physicality but will be able to perform.”
Sterling is currently aligned with the former ROH World Television Champion, Tony Nese. We wish him a speedy recovery. The full report on his injury and return timeline can be found on Fightful Select.
