Kevin Nash Says Becky Lynch Lost Her Edge After Becoming A Mother

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash has doubled down on his recent controversial comments regarding Becky Lynch, stating that he does not believe “she’s the same woman she was when she got her fucking nose busted open, as she is now.” Last week, Nash made headlines by saying he felt Lynch’s “run’s over” and that the “business has passed her by,” a critique he is now standing by.

The initial comments drew considerable online debate, with many fans disagreeing with Nash’s take on one of the top stars in the WWE women’s division.  Speaking on his Kliq This podcast with co-host Sean Oliver, Nash was asked about the feedback he received from his previous comments. He took the opportunity to explain his thinking in more detail, focusing on what he perceives as a loss of “edge” in Lynch’s character since becoming a mother.

“My whole thing is this, when Becky got over, Becky got over because fucking [Nia] Jax fucking busted her open, and there was the fucking visual of this pretty, red haired girl, petite nature that was defiant and fucking no sold it, and it was like, fuck yeah, and that’s what made her and then she pushed it, and she fucking got, she got super over.”

He then explained why he feels that persona is no longer authentic to who she is, and how that translates to her performances. He also referenced her recent on-screen confrontation with CM Punk, which he felt was a prime example of “domestic abuse” style heat that he doesn’t think works.

“And I think what has happened, and this is just my opinion, as is everything else. It’s not that you’re not an idiot if you don’t agree with me, it’s just my opinion that I don’t think that Becky is the same woman she was when she got her fucking nose busted open, as she is now that she’s went term with a child and as a mother of, you lose that edge. You lose the hunger. You’re fucking the person that’s playing that part is no longer that same person…I’m talking about her as a human being….and one thing about wrestling, man is like, if you fucking push something down somebody’s throat, fuck, man, they’ll regurgitate it, and…when she went violent on Phil with the fucking smacking, and I felt like Phil was Deborah Winger and she was fucking West Hightower, and he was basically telling sissy to pick up the cigarettes and Urban Cowboy….I mean, he was like It felt so fucking domestic abuse. I don’t think that’s the kind of heat we want.”
