WWE SmackDown superstar Chelsea Green is making a public push for her new on-screen ally, the reigning NXT North American Champion Ethan Page, to be called up to the main roster. In a new interview, Green stated that she feels it is her “job” to make sure the main roster sees him as a top-level talent and shared her hope that he will remain aligned with her “Green Regime” faction if and when the move happens.
Speaking to USA Today, the leader of the “Secret Hervice” was asked about the possibility of Page moving from NXT to Raw or SmackDown. Green praised him and made it clear that she believes he is more than ready for the jump. The two have been working together on the NXT brand in recent weeks as the “Canadian saviors.”
“(Page) absolutely deserves everything in wrestling that he’s ever got, and now I feel like it’s my job to make sure the main roster sees him as a main roster talent,” Green said. It was reported by WrestleVotes that there was talk of using the two on the main roster together.
When asked about what form she would like his call-up to take, Green made it clear that she hopes their on-screen alliance will continue on the main roster. She believes that their “Green Regime” faction, which also includes Piper Niven and Alba Fyre on SmackDown, is a “perfect unit” with the addition of the NXT North American Champion.
“I also hope that he stays with us. I think that we’ve learned so much from him, he’s learned so much from us, and we have just made kind of the perfect unit,” she stated. The idea of adding a male champion to her already successful faction would certainly increase the group’s power and influence on either Raw or SmackDown.
On the September 9 episode, he lost a Flag Match to Tavion Heights after the surprising return of former NXT Tag Team Champion, Tyler Breeze. A match between Page and Breeze has now been set for the upcoming NXT Homecoming television special on September 16.
That NXT Homecoming special is set to be loaded, with several other main roster stars, including Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer, and WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, also scheduled to be in action. The full interview with Chelsea Green can be found on USA Today’s website.
