Stephanie Vaquer Says She Is Not Injured, She Is Taking Classes To Learn English

WWE Superstar Stephanie Vaquer has clarified that she is not injured, despite recent speculation online. The Chilean wrestler addressed the rumors during an appearance on Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez.

Reports of an injury surfaced after Dave Meltzer mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vaquer may have been dealing with a minor issue. Speaking directly on the matter, Vaquer dismissed the talk, saying she is healthy and ready to compete.

“No, I [see] social media sometimes, many things like, not real,” Vaquer said. “No injuries. I’m ready. I’m ready for RAW for next Monday. So no, no injuries.”

During the interview, Vaquer also opened up about her ongoing effort to learn English since arriving in WWE. “I need to be honest. This is so difficult for me right now…I know my English is not good, perfect yet…I think [I’ve been here] for 10 months, my English maybe is not so bad, and I really want to learn more. So I try to be brave. And if interview in English or in Spanish, I say yeah, let’s do it.”

She explained that she practices daily, in addition to weekly English lessons. “Every day I force myself, every day I try to understand. I try to speak pronunciation for me because I’m Chilean, yeah, so that’s the Chilean Spanish is so bad. My pronunciation in Spanish is bad. English is more difficult for me, but I think now I learn a lot, and every day is not just sometimes, not because I have class one time in the week — English class, but I try to learn every day.”

Vaquer also spoke about her admiration for Booker T, who once performed her signature move during commentary. “I love Booker T, he made my move… And he did really good. No, it’s amazing people now, like, when I go for NXT, people’s like, ah, oh, Booker. And now I’m happy. I really love Booker T, I missed Booker T.”

She reflected on her journey to WWE and her dream of wrestling in her home country of Chile. “I never wrestled before in Chile. So my dream really, it’s a dream. My first match, professional match in Chile with WWE, that will be amazing.” Check out the interview below.
