Former WWE Star Has Been Wrestling With A Broken Arm

Since her departure from WWE, Shotzi Blackheart has re-established herself as the “Indie God,” taking on all comers in a series of wild and chaotic matches. She has revealed that she has been competing for the past three months with a broken arm, an injury that doctors initially told her would require surgery.

The injury occurred during one of her first matches back on the independent circuit, but Shotzi made the tough decision to wrestle through the pain to avoid losing the momentum she had built since becoming a free agent. Speaking on the TMZ Inside The Ring podcast, Shotzi was asked about her recovery from the injury, which many fans believed was a storyline angle involving her trademark tank. She then revealed the true, and much more intense, story.

“So now that I feel the feud is over, I can give the tea. No, it’s not because of the tank. I actually broke my arm in one of my first matches back on the Indies… I took a steel chair to my arm while I was doing a dive, and I knew immediately, and it was the first spot of the match, and I continued to wrestle for another 12 minutes with a broken arm.”

After visiting three different doctors who all recommended surgery, Shotzi decided to forge her own path. She opted for a heavy-duty cast and has continued to wrestle, a decision that appears to have paid off, as her arm is healing well and she will be able to avoid surgery.

“And I went and got an X-ray, and I went and saw three different doctors, and they all told me that I needed surgery, but I really didn’t want to do that, because I didn’t want to stop my momentum. I thought, ‘Damn, I just got back to the Indies…’ I said, ‘Okay, what if we just put a cast on it and I just keep wrestling?’ He just said, ‘All right, well, I’ll just really double up the cast.’ That’s why my first cast was so thick, because the doctor knew that I was going to keep wrestling on it… But if you look at the X-rays, that thing is very broken… But I got another X-ray a week ago, and it’s actually healing really well, and I’m getting a lot of my motion back, so I don’t have to re-break my arm and get surgery. Thankfully, I think we’re good.”

She is set to host her own GCW event, “Shotzi Blackheart’s House of Horrors,” in New York on October 24th. The full interview is available on the TMZ Inside The Ring podcast.
