Major League Wrestling (MLW) is set to present its seventh “Fightland” event, a night of championship matches, tournament action, and bitter rivalries. The event will take place tonight, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills, Texas. For fans who want to watch the action live, the event will air at 10pm Eastern on BeIN Sports and will also be available to stream for free on MLW’s official YouTube channel. The Main Event: A Grudge Match for the World Title
The main event of Fightland will feature the third championship encounter between MLW World Heavyweight Champion Matt Riddle and his challenger, Donovan Dijak. Their feud dates back to the “One Shot” event, where Riddle defeated Dijak to retain his “Golden Ticket” for a future title match. Riddle would go on to win the championship at “Kings of Colosseum.”
The two crossed paths again in the Battle Riot VII match, where Riddle successfully defended his title by last eliminating Dijak and Rob Van Dam. Riddle once again defeated Dijak in a singles match for the title at “Azteca Lucha.” A scheduled third match at “Blood and Thunder” never began, as Riddle was attacked backstage. After Dijak’s manager, Saint Laurent, confronted MLW management, the final showdown between the two was set for Fightland.
Championships on the Line and a Texas Deathmatch
In addition to the main event, two other championships will be decided. The vacant MLW World Middleweight Championship will be on the line as Templario faces Ikuro Kwon. The title was vacated by Místico at Battle Riot VII due to injury. After Místico relinquished the belt, Kwon ambushed him and stole the physical title, parading with it for weeks as “The Lucha Hunter.” Now, he and Templario will officially battle to crown a new champion.
Also, Shoko Nakajima will defend her MLW World Women’s Featherweight Championship against Yuki Kamifuku. In a non-title grudge match, former MLW National Openweight Champion Alex Hammerstone will take on Matthew Justice in a Texas Deathmatch. The rivalry began after Justice was inserted into Hammerstone’s title match against Último Guerrero at “Summer of the Beasts,” a match Guerrero won by pinning Justice. This led to a brawl between Hammerstone and Justice, which has escalated with verbal attacks in the weeks since.
The event will also feature the return of the Opera Cup tournament, with several first-round matches scheduled. A special appearance by the mysterious “Don Gato” is also being promoted for the show.
