An update has been provided on the contract status of AEW and ROH star Claudio Castagnoli. A new report from Fightful Select has confirmed that the “Swiss Superman” is not nearing the end of his current deal and still has a “substantial amount of time left” on his contract.
The speculation began when Castagnoli missed a planned appearance for AEW at their “Grand Slam” show in Mexico. This, combined with the fact that it had been nearly three years to the day since his AEW debut, led some fans to wonder if his contract had expired. According to the report, sources in AEW have stated that Castagnoli still has a “substantial amount of time left on his contract.”
It was also noted that AEW President Tony Khan has “made it pretty clear that he wants Claudio to be there for a long time.” Since his arrival in AEW in 2022, Castagnoli has been a featured performer and a key member of the Blackpool Combat Club faction alongside Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta.
He is a two-time ROH World Champion and has been a consistent presence in the main event scene of both AEW and Ring of Honor. Castagnoli has yet to publicly comment on his AEW status.
