In a response to a fan on the social media platform X, Lee shared his gratitude for their support and then offered a definitive, albeit vague, update on his status. “You honor me. I appreciate you for that. All my gratitude. I’d like to take this moment to remind you, that you also, are boundless,” Lee wrote. “Additionally, I’ll take a moment to reassure you that a return to the ring will certainly happen. Though I won’t posit how or when. Much love.”
He is a former AEW World Tag Team Champion, a title he held with his former partner, Swerve Strickland. The two were originally scheduled to have a one-on-one match at the Worlds End pay-per-view in December 2023, but Lee was pulled from the match due to his health issues.
In June of this year, Lee had noted on his social media that he was “quite fine” and that a return was not up to him, which suggested that he was waiting for creative plans to be put in place.
